This was so so tasty. I love peanuty satay chicken and this was the best I've had. Tender and juicy with great flavour. The noodles were amazing too. Pineapple drink also insanely good. What an awesome place this is, I'm gutted we came here on our last day instead of the first. In the photo I'd already taken a bite cause I couldn't wait. The guy was very friendly too and helpful.

As an introduction to the Indonesian cuisine I was royally amazed by the quality of not only the food but also the service. Genuinely the best service I’ve been privileged to enjoy since arriving in Amsterdam. We should take notes as Americans.

Best satay I've ever had, including Malaysia and Singapore. Very juicy, when I talked to the chef, he explained they double cook it, first to temp, then for the crispy exterior. The fried noodles were also excellent. Fantastic value too.

Absolutely loved this place, ordered the chicken satay and we agreed it was one of our best meals of the trip. Friendly new owner is changing up the menu with fantastic flavors. We will miss the Netherlands, had a wonderful trip, but will especially love the food at Sate Lounge. Trying to find a place similar in Southern California! Highly recommend!

First time for me to taste Surinamese cuisine.
It was excellent. I had the combo: 3 satay sticks with peanut sauce, fried rice, pickled cucumber slices and 3 pcs kropeck.
The satay was well marinated and full of flavour. The peanut sauce was a perfect blend of salty and sweet, it wasn’t overwhelmingly peanut-y like how most sate sauces are. Even the pickled cucumbers were good.
Service was great. The owner chatted with us and he explained what Surinamese food was and gave us information on the cuisine which helped us appreciate the dish even more.
The second time I returned, I tried the same combo but with noodles. Sadly, the noodles had a nice rich colour but the taste did not live up to the look. It lacked the flavour punch that the deep colour promised.
Then I tasted the bara Tjauw Siu sandwich. It was just ok. The first meal with the date rice was the best for me.- Service

Best satay ever. If you have never had satay, this is the place to try it. Of course it may mean future tastes of satay will never measure up to Saté Lounge’s satay. It was so good we went back later the same day and ordered it again.

Had the chicken curry barra and it was top tier. Barra is basically a dumpling that has been put on the grill. Would put that on the must try list but also makes me want to return to try the other items on the menu.

It was perhaps the most amazing cut of beef we have ever had. Presentation was also beautifully done. Tender beyond belief and the strawberry satay sauce was absolutely amazing! We can see why this won an award.
Their menu is a simple 3 items but they are to die for. The owner, Johan, clearly loves what he does and takes great pride in what he serves. We had a chance to chat with him as we devoured our delicious meal. He calls his food “passion food,” using only the best ingredients and made with pride and passion.
Highly recommend stopping here for a bite. But try with caution as food at other places may never taste as good after trying Sate Lounge!Awesome chicken satay with fried rice, super fast service, friendly owner, fantastic meal in a really cool building. Lots of options for dessert, drinks, coffee, or tea after your meal. Must visit foodhall at least once when touring Rotterdam, especially if you're visiting the Cube House complex.

The Chicken Curry Sandwich (Kip Curry Bara/Broodjie) is the tastiest. I would recommend as well to try the Bami Sate (Fried noodles)

As a local Singaporean from South East Asia, I’ve eaten many satés before. This reinterpretation of Indonesian cuisine has opened my mind of a humble dish. This store has really elevated this simple Asian street food.
I agree that the Sate Lounge is great. We had the beef which was perfectly cooked - right infront of you. The staff was friendly and the price was very reasonable. Can't ask for more than that.
